Church Point
Shot on Portra 800 x Canon AE-1P
03
Monday 23rd May - I picked up my first roll of Portra - but all they had was 800. Unperturbed, I trotted off to Church Point to try out this lush new film. The sunset was unspectacular but the greens of Scotland Island and the distinctive water scenes provided plent of lens candy.

Preferring 400, I was anxious to see the results of this 800 ISO film. They came back with harsh, stark contrasts and a bias for blacks, whites, and oranges - not my favourite tones. But, with a bit of meddling in lightroom I feel they came good - enhanced greens, smoother transitions and greater clarity. In future I'll steer clear of 800 film, but it was worth the lesson!
